Veada Industries Selected Plataine Solutions to Automate and Streamline Seating Manufacturing

Waltham, MA – Plataine, an award-winning leading provider of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)-based Intelligent Automation software, announces Veada Industries’ selection of its Total Production Optimization (TPO) FabricOptimizer solution, to improve manufacturing efficiencies through increased material yield and production throughput in its New Paris, Indiana plant.

Veada, a leading OEM manufacturer of interiors for the Boating, RV and other industries, chose Plataine to automate and optimize its cut planning and production decisions & processes.
“Prior to implementing TPO we used to practice manual and labor-intensive processes to produce our highly customized goods. Cut plans were selected out of a pre-defined library and hand delivered from the design room to the next stations. Paperwork and excess time wasted became a routine part of the process”, said Tyler Stump, Data Control and Process Design at Veada. “With Plataine’s FabricOptimizer our process has never been so lean; Cut plans and material selection are automated and optimized, while cutting is made JIT (Just-In-Time) avoiding un-necessary WIP inventory and bottlenecks”. Steve Leeper, Veada’s IT Director adds: “FabricOptimizer helped our production specialists to significantly reduce our waste and improve our total productivity and quality control while enabling real-time monitoring and traceability over work in progress”.

Plataine’s Total Production Optimization (TPO) FabricOptimizer enables interiors and upholstery manufacturers to quickly respond to market changes and remain viable in an increasingly competitive global environment that includes customers’ demands for made-to-order, just-in-time products, at competitive prices. FabricOptimizer automatically optimizes the placement of pieces from one or more orders on multiple rolls, resulting in material yields that are consistently higher than any other solution. By generating the most efficient cut plan, FabricOptimizer improves the cutting machine’s productivity and contributes to an overall streamlined, automated and optimized production process. FabricOptimizer is offered as SaaS (Software-as-a-Service), a fundamentally faster and more cost-effective alternative to ‘traditional’ (on premises) software installations. The SaaS model offers minimal upfront costs, faster time to value and ongoing payments that are closely coupled with the value received.

“We are excited to be part of Veada’s course of automating and optimizing their production processes and increasing their operational efficiencies. Plataine’s automatic and dynamic algorithms and our holistic approach will allow Veada to concentrate more on growth and meet their customers’ requirements giving them a substantial competitive advantage”, said Avner Ben-Bassat, Plataine’s President & CEO.
