New agreement enables Plataine’s TPO software to integrate with Siemens PLM Software’s Teamcenter software to optimally streamline daily production processes.
Waltham MA, USA – Plataine, a leading provider of production optimization solutions, today announced that it will integrate PLM technology from Siemens in its Total Product Optimization (TPO) software solution for composites component and part manufacturers. As part of the expanded partnership, Plataine is able to enhance its offerings to the composite part fabrication industries with Siemens PLM Software’s Teamcenter® portfolio, the world’s most widely used digital lifecycle management software.
The new agreement enables Plataine to integrate product design data from Siemens PLM Software’s Teamcenter with orders and inventory information from customer’s ERP/MRP systems, to automatically create optimized production plans, which are then integrated back via Teamcenter to the production floor. Plataine will also integrate Siemens PLM Software’s Tecnomatix® portfolio, the industry-leading digital manufacturing software, NX™ software, a leading integrated solution for computer-aided design, manufacturing and engineering (CAD/CAM/CAE) and Fibersim™ software, a portfolio of software for composites engineering.
The integrated solution will facilitate a two-way transfer of composite design and production information between engineering and manufacturing. Product design information stored in Teamcenter will be automatically and accurately included in TPO’s cut planning, nesting, inventory selection and cost evaluations processes. This includes information such as ply geometry and layup order, fiber direction restrictions, material requirements and cutting restrictions. Similarly, the engineering team can now benefit from TPO’s accurate material utilization and costing information and be able to run production simulations to support the design and bidding processes.
